Mr. Briggs has recently joined GIS Surveyors as Project Management Lead responsible for providing project management support and development, bid reviews, proposal development, finance and budget tracking as well as client and subcontractor communication and relations. He is currently pursuing the Project Management Professional certification and expects to be complete this year.
Mr. Briggs has spent the last twenty-four years building a knowledge base in the LiDAR and Survey industry through hard work and dedication to his clients. He has worked on many successful projects for power utility, oil and gas, coastal, railroad, and government entities and assisted in the processing and delivery of thousands of miles of engineering grade data. With the bulk of projects coming from power utilities, the personal connections have become the cornerstone of relationships within that industry. The management of large-scale projects has been commonplace in recent years, and he has consistently proven he is able to deliver such projects on-time and within budget.
Joining a fast growing and diverse team at GIS Surveyors has allowed him to continue to build on what was started over two decades ago. Having a solid background in PLS-CADD, survey/mapping, and management is a combination that serves all parties he works with. He has also worked as Product Owner on an Agile team for software development in regards to proprietary LiDAR processing software. Being able to assist in this process has given him a deeper understanding of LiDAR data production for classification, orthomosaics, and planimetrics. The collocated team proved to be an integral part of building his interpersonal skills.
Mr. Briggs is based in the Lafayette area of Louisiana. He and his wife Christy have three amazing children and have always enjoyed the Cajun culture the area has to offer; particularly the food, the festivals, and the dancing that comes with it. In his spare time, he enjoys reading (fantasy and WWII biographies) and writing stories for children (currently unpublished). He also enjoys cooking and baking, as do most of the men in his family.
